The
Object of My Obsession
13 February - 20 May 2004 The Lisa Coscino Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of its next exhibitions. The Front Gallery will feature an exhibition entitled: The Object of my Obsession, a group show featuring established and new gallery artists. The Mid Gallery will feature the work of Bill Herberholtz in a show entitled New Tin Work. The exhibitions will open on Friday, February 13th and continue through March 20th. There will be an opening reception on Friday, 13 February from 6-8pm.
For The Object of My Obsession, the artists were given the Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary definition of "Obsession" and asked to create artwork that referred to their personal obsessions. Accompanying each artwork will be text that describes the specific "obsession" the piece is about. There will be a mix of artists participating in the exhibition, including many new one's not previously seen in the gallery. Seattle-based artist, Bill
Herberholtz a.k.a. "The Tin Man", constructs playful, ironic
and sometimes political artwork out of all types of used and vintage tin.
Signs, boxes, toys and gadgets are all fodder for his imagination. This
will be Bill's first one-person show at the Gallery but he has many, many
local collectors who have been patiently waiting to see his new work. |
