The Lisa Coscino Gallery announces the opening of its new exhibition entitled "THE NAKED TRUTH". The exhibition will open on Friday, July 27th and run through August 25th. There will be a Reception for the Artists on Friday, July 27th from 6-8pm. The Gallery is located at 171 Central Avenue in Pacific Grove.

"THE NAKED TRUTH" features drawings and paintings by five local artists who are primarily known as landscape, plein aire or still life painters. This will be the first time this grouping of their figurative work, nudes, will be shown. The Artists included in the exhibition are: Rick Harper, Roianne Hart, John McWilliams, Gordon Mortensen and Tim Sloan. The show will also include nudes by Mexican Artist Isaac Ambriz.

Drawing and painting the live nude model is to a visual artist what the jam session is to a musician. As a beginning artist one is taught that mastery of the human form and all its subtlety is the basis for all other directions one may choose to take. This exhibition then, represents the jam session of these artists, artists who continue to study, learn from and celebrate the human body. They are pages from the sketchbooks of these artists and the place where they work out issues of color, shading, form and line. In as much as they were not originally intended for exhibition, they are deeply personal works and range in medium from quick charcoal sketches to watercolors to painstakingly painted masterpieces.
