KEVIN FLYNN lives in Pebble Beach and creates extrordinary collages out of bits and pieces of found objects and other materials. The collages are mostly abstract, colorful and playful but if one looks closely, they can piece together recognizable elements that may form a story or lead one down a certain path. With a background in forensic police work, Flynn manages to find beautiful, tiny details in the most unlikely places. Los Angeles artist,
ASTRID PRESTON, paints super real landscape paintings, without people,
structure or evidence of any kind of the human element except for the
perfect structure some of her gardens have. These small paintings, postcard
size, have incredible detail and, like a postcard one receives via mail,
make the viewer ponder a place they have never visited...in Preston's
case, a place that does not exist. Preston's paintings, large and small,
are in many museum collections throughout the United States. |
